1989 johnson 20 horse outboard motor w/tiller handle

I cant get my outboard motor to stop when I hit kill button on my tiller handle, first time it has done this , how can I fix ?

Could be a bad stop switch, a broken black/yellow wire between stop switch and CDI unit or a bad CDI.
