    2005 Johnson Outboards 150 [ J150PXSOE ]

When I turn my steering wheel on the above engine I hear a clinking sound, it happens moving the wheel in either direction only when the motor is running. It steers fine, just makes this noise. Any ideas?

Are you hearing this noise at helm or at engine? If it has a tilt helm then may be the u-joint in tilt mechanism.

Coming from the Engine. Sorry for the delayed response.

Look for something loose on motor like a loose trim tab, loose motor mount cover, loose prop or a loose steering link arm. Check steering cable where fits into tilt tube and or steering shaft to see if binding(lack of grease) causing a popping noise. If it's hydraulic steering make sure all nuts and bolts are tight on steering cylinder.
