    2002 Johnson 90 v4 ,used the boat a week ago put it back in covered storage .Went to use it today sand no spark at all tried the kill switch and nothing ,was running fine when put away any help would be appreciated

    The engine must crank over at least 300 rpms for the stator to energize the powerpack. Anything lower in rpms raises the possibility of erratic, weak, or no spark.

    The spark plugs should be removed when testing for spark so as to obtain the highest cranking speed possible. That spark should jump a 7/16" air gap with a strong blue lightning like flame... a real SNAP.

    Temporarily remove the black/yellow wire (kill circuit) from the ignition switch's "M" terminal (or the powerpack). If you have spark with that wire removed BUT no spark with it connected, that indicates a short exists within the ignition switch, in which case, replace it.
