1981 to 1984 johnson 60hp swap

easier to ask than trial and error. got a 84 60hp that just gave it up (over heat) and have had a 81 60hp power head just waiting for it's chance. looks like power head will swap out but what about the newer ignition and all the wiring? could it be as simple as putting all the 84 stuff on the older block or is there going to be problems i can't see? i know i can change the carburators and choke system but not sure about the rest. any thoughts or advise would be greatly appreciated. yeah, i know, a new motor would be the best solution, but i like the way these old beast run and it's cost neutral
