Rectifier / Regulator 115 hp Johnson 2000

Hello guys, I´m new at this forum and it´s very interesting.

I was searching for a trouble similar as mine but I didn´t find it (maybe I didn´t search as it should be).

I´m from Mexico and I´ve just bought online (from Florida) a Rectifier & Regulator (part# 0586075) for a 115hp Johnson 2000 (J115PLSSB) and the old Rectifier & Regulator has 5 wires (2 yellow, 1 red, 1 gray and 1 purple) but the new one hasn´t the purple wire.

Could you help me please?

What is each wire for? and specifically the purple wire

I´ve read that the new Rectifier / regulator has not a purple wire anymore buy I´m not very sure about it.

If I install the new Regulator / Rectifier and putting away the purple wire, is the motor going to work as it should be? how does this afect the motor & electronics performance?

Is ok to install the new Reg / Rec without the purple wire?
