Default Water pump telltale

I have a 140hp 2004 Johnson 4 stroke that slowly stopped squirting water out of the telltale. I have changed the water pump impeller and housing but the stream coming out is very weak. What else can I do to resolve this issue?

Thanks

Have you taken the boat out in murky water? It may be getting clogged.

Cool Just a guess

Under the hood, follow the telltale hose, and it probably goes to a T fitting. Take the telltale off at the T and blow compressed air thru the hose. If there is something in the hose that should clear it out. Might be a mud dauber is trying to make a nest in your hose.

If I remember right, your water pump doesn't put out maybe 8-10 PSI, so it doesn't take much to clog it up.

Good luck,

Default 140 water pump telltell

Did you resolve your issue? I have a similar problem and replaced the water pump. We cannot locate a clog in the tubes and worry it is in the engine block
