15 hp johnson overheats
I have installed a new impeller,thermostat,and ran water through every passage possible.Yesterday I submerged lower unit in water,and started motor.It ran for about 2 minutes,then the pee hole quit running and the thermostat housing got too hot to hold my hand on.I shut it off and removed thermostat and restarted motor.no water is getting to the thermostat housing,I dropped the lower unit again and the impeller is installed properly.I again ran water through the pick up tube,& water comes out thru the t'stat hsg.also checked the pee hole.it is clear also.Anyone have any ideas?? My motor is a 89 15HP Johnson 2 stroke. Thanks
