Default 70 hp boggs down, quits
1980 70 hp starts well, runs well for a few minutes at idle or under load, then abruptly cuts to 1/2 power or less, finally slows down, stops, and won't restart.

I've been told it sounds like a power pack problem.

Suggestions?

it could be

i bet you have a weak fuel pump or fuel restriction
