1997 30 hp

I have a 1997 30 hp 2 stroke. The motor is a keyed ignition. However the motor won't turn over with the key...So I replaced the ign. switch....nothing happens..I can pull start the motor no problem with a rope on the fly wheel.. No info is coming back to the tach or the warning light and alarms....I unwrapped most of the wiring harness looking for a broken wire.....nothing...Can someone point me in the right direction? what part controls most of these functions (ie rpm info and warning lights and alarms)
