1997 johnson 8 flywheel issues

i have just rebuilt my johnson 8 horse. (under flywheel) am now trying to get the plate bearing, support plate and retainer and link assy to fit. where does the plastic plate bearing go? i've tried it around the support plate. In between the ignition plate and retainer plate. I've tried the support plate with bevel up and down.... there is always a lot of play in the whole thing when i put it one way. then the other way the flywheel hits it. I've got an exploded view in the seloc book 1312, section 4-26.. I forgot to take a picture of this part.... anyone got a shop book for this model J8REUC..
