Default 2hp Johnson 1999 - Carby fuel inlet needle not closing

Hi,

My problem: Fuel will not stop entering float chamber overflowing out of the carby - the float and hinge appear ok....??

I have pulled the bowl off and even if I push the neddle up fully inline with the feed from the gravity fed tank with my finger - fuel still passes (but very slowly).

Is this by design or should it seat and shut the fuel off 100%????

I was thinking of purchasing the Carby Kit but I'm not sure if this needle is part of the kit? The needle sold seperately is $53 while the kit is around $40.

Here is the needle causing the issue:

Thanks,
Shan

No need to get excited, just me replying to me - she's fixed, bit of clear gunk in between the needle and the seat, good to go!

Happy boating friends
