'94 70 Johnson

I bought a pontoon boat with a 70hp 1994 Johnson. I've had it running for a short moment with ear muffs and a water hose --what I don't know is how much water should be running from the outlet while it is running and which is the actuall water out let -I had it running for about 7 minutes and it gets very warm to the touch to the point your hand will burn. Is this normal? and where can I find the operators manual for a 20 ft 1994 Lowe pontoon boat?
