I need help finding out what is causing my eng. not to idle.The eng is a 1984 OMC seadrive V4 115 hp. The eng runs great but will not idle unless I raise the motor out of the water with just the water pickup part of the lower unit still in the water. I have done a compression test and had 125 psi per cylinder. Timing is right on the money. I am running Champion L77JC4 plugs. Help!
Took my motor to 3 different mechanics about the idle,no help at all,couldn't find nothing wrong anywhere.THEN,i saw a hose that was a little frayed at the clamp,cut it back an inch ,put it back on and have had no problems since.Evidently there was a vaccum loss right there,beats me but it works a lot better now,check fuel line hoses ,may help,,good luck..ss
