175 hp 1996 johnson outboard idling problem

hi my name is joe.. i'm having problems with my outboard motor. When I put my boat in the water, everything woks fine and well. the engine starts real easy and idle and drives normal. The problem starts after driving for a while and I assume when the engine is warmer. The engine dies when I shift back on neutral. It would re start but runs only for two to three seconds, it coughs then die. To be able to drive, I have to shift to drive real quick and at higher RPM. From this time on I would not have idling at all. Have rebuilt carbs, new spark plugs and wires and new filters. Please desperately need help.

I have a 99 175 that does the same thing. If you figure it out please let me know and I will do the same.
