Thumbs up 1992 175hp Silver Star Series

Hey guys. New here and looking forward to learning alot. Have been poking around and found some good information. I have the above mentioned motor and have been encountering a little problem. When i am idling/engaging reverse or forward, I have a stalling problem. Although the motor starts right back up, it is something I would like to straighten out. The plugs are brand new, water pump brand new and new thermostats. Please help and thanks in advance!

still doing this. Also, power trim up doesnt work on shifter. Only down works. The switch on the motor works both ways however. Any ideas?

Default shift interupter

I think those motors have a shift interupter switch on the shift linkage. The switch cuts three cylinders when you shift so as not to crash into gear to bad.Might be somethink to look at.Joe458
