2004 150HP Johnson Outboard (Half Power)

My 04 150hp Johnson outboard is only running at half power. Yesterday I was out and initially it ran fine. All of a sudden it bogged down and now only runs at half power, I cant get it to go above 2000 rpm. It is also running rough!

Any one know this problem?

I have a 2001 225 that does the same thing. Runs great for several days then won't go past 2000 rpms. I have had in the shop several different times spent a ton of money with no response to fixing it. Wish I could help us both out

Sounds like the fail safe is on in the computer. Try disconnecting the temp sensor and see if it will rev.
