Engine will not throttle after warmup

Engine type: Johnson 48HP 1988 J48ESLCCC

I finally was able to get my boat out and test it a few days ago. I spent the winter rebuilding/cleaning the engine. New carbs, new coils, plugs, wires, thermostat, fuel pump, all new fuel line, and replaced all gaskets. When I first start it up, idles good. Ran it in the river for a few minutes, started slow and worked up to full throttle. Ran good, however, after that it does idle but as soon as I started to give it throttle, it would just die. It did not matter if I was putting it in gear or just going with a fast idle. Not sure what else to check or adjust. Any help would be appreciated.
