2000 90 HP Johnson

I have the above motor on a Four Winns boat. Lately I have had prolems starting the boat. I would turn the key and the warning lights would come on, as they should, then shut off. I would turn the key all the way over to try and start it but more times then not nothing would happen, no sounds, no attempt to start, nothing. Eventually it would fire up. Now it does nothing, nothing electrical will work. I replaced the battery with a known good one and the result was the same. I had the ignition switch replaced as well but that didn't help. I will admit up front that I knwo very little abour boats in general and motors in particular. My research tells me there may be a problem with the neutral safety switch. I am not sure where this is but I have a pretty good idea of what it is. Anyway, if some one out there could give me some advise or point in the right trouble shooting direction I would really appreciate it, thanks very much.

try cleaning the ground wire from the battery @ the engine and battery.
