Bought an 85 Doral Bowrider with a 85 Johnson 120 on it. Out of water on ears and in gear will rev to recommended RPM but in the water at WOT it bogs at WOT. Could this be just the carbs need to be rebuilt? or would it be a more serious issue?
there is a 7/16 nut/bolt at the bottom of the carb both sides. take it out and stick a bread tie in there. burn off the paper first. that is the main jets. worst case you have an exhaust leak were the power head bolts the can. to figure if its carbs take the cowling off and run it wot. if it works good exhaust if it still the same carbs!
