1972 Johnson 100hp No Spark

I have a 1972 Johnson 100hp outboard that when you turn the key to start it, it will turn over but there is no spark while cranking, when you release the key to the run position you see one spark, if you put the key in the run position and I apply power directly to starter with an external battery I get good continuos spark.

Found out the battery did not have enough charge, once I put in good battery started right up. Maybe this will help someone else!
