VRO alarm

Hi guys,
I'm new to this forum, didn't expect to need help so soon but I do. The boat I purchased was repowered with a 1996 Johnson 150 HP (Model VJ150ELEIS). The VRO (or OMS) has been removed. After about five minutes the alarm goes off. As it is intermittant it sounds like the low oil alarm. I need to know specifically how to disconnect this alarm. Of course I want the overheat alarm to work.
I have disconnected VROs before with no alarm ever sounding...this must be different. I would appreciate any help.
