Default 1989 gt150

I recently purchased a used ranger with a gt 150. Boat and motor run very well but I dont have a gt manual an I have a question. I used to run ALL THE FUEL out of the carberator of my previous 150, it was not oil injected, I had to pre mix. The current GT 150 is oil injected and when I tried to run all the fuel out of the carb by turning the tank selector to off I get a ALARM sounding. Is this normal or am I doing something WRONG?

It sounds like you are doing something wrong. You should be able to just unplug the quick connect fuel line from the engine to run it out of gas. If the alarm continues to sound the alternative method, which actually a better method, is to manually drain the carburetor bowls.
