Default impeller change

i have a johnson 20 hp model J20ECOS and want to know to take off the lower unit, is there any linkage to unhook or will it just slide off thanks

There is a shift rod retainer located under the carburetors.

is it easy to get to or do you need special tools and is it adjustable so i have to get it back exactly,have seen a video how to do it but not for my motor

It's usually a small bolt so would need a swivel socket and extention to get loose and possible a long set of needle nose pliers. You might want to get a service manual for your model motor to help you.
