Running along and then all of a sudden, prop stops. Shut engine down. Engine starts fine but does not go into gear, forward or reverse. Didn't hit anyting just running along when it occurred. Put boat on trailer and prop shows no sign, as does the lower unit of hitting anything. Prop turns? Suggestions please so I know what I am possibly looking at? Much thanks.
Prop hub may be spun, check shift cables and linkage to see if working.
Do not attempt to put motor in forward or reverse gear without manually spinning prop while doing so. Otherwise, you can damage cables, linkage or shifter dog/gears.
