Default No spark on my 5 HP johnston

Hello`,
Boy, do I need help!
I have a 2001 Johnson 5HP outboard Model J5RVSIM. I started out with spare-on and -off. The motor would run in my back yard but failed to run when I put it on my ZODIAC SO I COULD RUN OUT TO THE MOORING. I'm sure it was coincidence. I replaced the 5030218coil under the flywheel (about two weeks ago). The engine started up and ran but the next day I tried to start it, but –no spark again.. I thought I might have an on again, off again coil. I ordered a new coil 5030220 from Boats.net and received it Last Tuesday 9/28. Installed it-But no spark. I disconnected the coil under the flywheel and connected a digital voltmeter to the leads. Cranking the engine over, I did read a voltage--maybe 10 to 13ac volts. The reading is so quick, it's hard to tell exactly what the reading was. But, never-the-less I did get a reading! I then checked the new ignition coil with my digital volt meter.
I measured 180k ohms on the primary. This reading was sensitive to the polarity of the connection of the test leads. It seems that the coil has a built in diode in series with the input lead. The second winding (ground to spark plug) was 17.5k ohms. This reading seamed reasonable. The 180k reading on the primary seem much too high. Which leads me to believe that the new coil is defective. Is there any factory data about what the voltage level should be from the output of the coil under the flywheel when cranking the engine and what would be the correct readings for the spark coil?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
The ZODIAC dose not row very well!
Thank You. John

Unfortunately I do not have the service manual, which is required for that specific model. You can obtain one from the following link.
Original outboard product and service manuals for Johnson, Evinrude, Gale, and OMC
