94 140 HP OB J140TLARR not spitting/Streaming

I have a 1994 140hp Johnson outboard. It cranks and runs fine. However, I cant get it to spit from upper tell tale. I have replaced the water pump (whish was bad). I have tried to run water up the mid section pipe to head (it take water until it builds up pressure) but nothing out of upper port, tell tale. I have gently poked and prodded the upper port with a wire looking for a clog. All to no avail.

Does anyone have any pointers to what might be causing a clog at the engine end?

You might blow air back through the system. Check your poppet valve.
