Seeking advice on used part

Hello-

First poster here, and glad to have found this forum.

I'm working on the trim and tilt system on my 2001 Johnson 50 HP:

Model# - J50VLSIG
Serial# - G 04887623

Inside the power trim and tilt system is the piston assembly (Part # 433814). There are 6 springs, and each spring has a ball and seat for the ball. I somehow lost one of the balls and it's seat. They just disappeared off my work bench. I looked everywhere and can't find them.

Before I buy a brand new piston assembly, I Just wanted to check and see if anyone out there has a junk T&T system you were saving to part out and sell me the piston assembly (or just a ball & seat).

Or should I not waste my time and just bite the bullet & buy a new piston assembly? Unit is over 10 years old and only used in the salt.


Also, any tips for getting the pin out where the T&T Ram attaches to the engine? I've got lots of corosion there...

That particular part is not available separately, so used or new assembly is the only option. As for getting the pin out, there is no easy way, especially with corrosion. Head, punches and hammers.
