If gas is coming out of the carb then the float valve is not shutting the fuel off. You need to remove the carb again and verify all passages are clean and there is no debri in the needle seat. Sounds like the motor is floating out.

Removed the carb again, all clean. I have a parts pic of carb. There is/are 3 disc different sizes in repair kit. However, none were in carb when serviced??
Do you know what they are and what they do??

sounds like you are referring to the expansion plugs. Those are used on the early production and may not be required for your unit.

I can get it to fire and run for a short time if I drop it in gear and disconnect the fuel. when I rehook the fuel it dies.

Verify again the fuel pump is working properly. Make sure the carburetors are all properly adjusted and syncronized.

It is a single carb, I get it to fine and run in gear/tank. Thinking it may need a spark advance? I have ordered a new fuel pump as it needs hand pumped to keep running.

Check the timing, but only used the recommended timing from the manual. Check all the timing linkage bushings as well.
