Default Johnson 30 hk -98

I have a broken leaf valve one "leaf" is off and have disappeared into the engine. Is it a need to take the engine apart and try to find the broken leaf or can it be left somewhere in the engine without doing any harm? [EMAIL="sbne@telia.com"]sbne@telia.com[/EMAIL

Do a compression test or remove the cylinderhead and inspect for any damage. If the leaf is not present or no damage, it could have been blown out the exhaust.

I have done a compression test and the compr. rate is the same on both cyl. and it is of the full rate.

But is the size of the intake holes for fuel bigger than the widht of the leaf =19 mm if not the leaf my be outside the cyl. below the bypass cover. ??

There is also no dissonance from the crankcase part

There should not be any voids in the intake manifold. If the reed did not enter motor you would see it.
