johnson 150 elatr drive shaft

having to replace the lower portion of the driveshaft, everything is out and I've removed the split key. the upper shaft wobbles in the lower shaft, but will not come out. any help with how to get the upper shaft out of the lower (procedure) would be GREATLY appreciated

Some times it does take a tap with hammer to separate, just use a block of wood to hit on to keep from damaging shaft.
