Default idle ajustment assembly

my idle adjustment assem. is broken how hard is it to take off and would that solve the problem of setting my trolling speed when i catch a fish i take my hand off throttle and it idles down then the current gets me then i loose my fish Help

Dont know what motor you have or which idle screw you mean, on control box or on engine but either one is not that difficult to replace.

sorry about not giving more info but here it is i have a j30teenr1992 the idle adjustment just spins in the end of the handle will not tighten up to hold speed
