hello to one and all
i'm very old in age and very young to boating so i'm asking for lots of help.
i recently bought a hydra-sport 20' ocean skiff 1996 powered by a 1994 150hp johnson. first question what's the best rpm to run at for fuel concerns?
my wife and ran the motor only once and love the performance but would like to repower to a 115hp evinrude if the cost serves the means, could any of you tell me what to expect in differents between the two motors for fuel costs. thanks to one and all for any help you may be able to pass along,as i begin my new journey paul

Check the web for performance bulletins on boats like yours to get an idea, if your would be unpowered with the 115 then may not be a big fuel saving.
