1976 6hp seahorse

I need to remove the lower end.When I remove the bolts the unit only drops about 3/4", is there something else I need to disassemble to remove it? Thanks for your help.

Have to separate upper and lower shift shaft, I believe that model has a plate on side mid section housing that you have to remove to get to shift shafy coupling.
