Hello, I have a 1983 70horse johnson outboard on a 18' aluminum sylvan , do I need to get a certain tac for this motor because the one on the boat does'nt seem to be working, I tap it while I'am running the motor and it sometimes spins all the way around.

Any of the aftermarket tach with a 10 pulse setting will work.
