Default water muffs good or bad?
Will water muffs With cold water, cause a the thermostat to stay too cool to open. this is the only thing I can THINK is causing my motor to get hot

No they wont, the muffs may not be suppling enough water to engine to keep cool, try running in water to see if overheats.
