hey guys i just bought my boat about a month ago so im still learning about outboards but this motor has been running good since i bought it except for this past weekend when i took it out. as i was on the water i could hear the engine pitch going up and down and you could feel it losing power. i couldn't go that fast because it just sounded worse. i use 50:1 oil ratio but i may have had a little more in (which i heard was better than having less) and i also put Johnson fuel stabilizer in my tank for the first time so im wondering if this is why my engine is acting up? im sure the motor hasn't had any maintenance to it in a while, im sure the carburetor could probably need a good cleaning but i just want to know if it sounds like it was the fuel stabilizer or i just need to get my motor serviced? any advice would be great. thanks!
