  • Tilt Switch on 1999 Bay Hawk

I have a 2004 115hp. I need to remove the tilt switch to see if it is any good. I tried the switches on the outside of the motor and the tilt works. To my surprise because I did not know they were there. The switch is on the side of the shift/throttle. I could not remove a cover that covers controls I guess and where the ignition switch is. It is a Bay Hawk boat, 1999. Need Help.

If have the side mount control box then will need to remove box from boat and remove handle from control box to get to screws holding cover on.

Thanks. Do I have to remove the ignition first. The cover does not have any screws only the base which I removed screws but did not budge,

        BRP Switch

I just noticed that on the side of the remote box is a round cap with BRP on it. I remember pressing it back then. Does this have anything to do with controlling the tilt switch.

Pop rubber plug out to see if has screws behind it.

I will see it tomorrow. just came in. All I remember seeing was rectangle plastic plate below the ignition switch. I will pry it out.... Hope I don't break it. Thanks will let u know how it goes.

Was able to remove it.. Removed the Rectangle plate. Did not attempt to remove switch because the wire is rolled around the lever and it I take it apart it might be spring loaded causing a big mess. Do you think it will be spring loaded?

No it's not spring loaded just coiled so lever can move without pulling wire tight.

                  Follow-up on Power Trim

It still did not work with new switch. Now I'm thinking it might be the trim sending unit. Could this be a possible problem? I hate to buy it at 92.00 and not be it. Open for any help. Thanks
