    what's wrong with my fuel connector?

    Hi,

    I was trying to connect the female fuel connector onto the male connector for 1982 Johnson 90hp, but I cannot lock it in? why? please help.

    The gas tank was hooked up to a Mercury 90hp before the switch. Do i need to buy a new Johnson fuel connector?

    You need the proper OMC fuel connector.

        Shouldn't have to remove any sleeve, are you using OEM connector, number 36 in diagram is the OEM part. 1982 J90MLCNB Johnson Outboard FUEL TANK Diagram and Parts
        Connector on engine side may be damged and need to be replaced.
