I there.... new here as of today and have a question.

I picked up a 1972 6hp Johnson (# 6R72D) last year. It had been serviced and so on... used it for a bit in the fall then stored it away in the basement for the winter.

Got it out the other day for check it over, befiore taking it out. Took the cover off while it was running and found a leak coming from the fuel pump. So stupid me.... I started to take the pump off for a better look and a spring came out from someplace.... so I took the pump right off and forgot to take pictures of how it went back together. I put it back as best I thought but now it won't work??

Pictures from an ol line parts manual don't show the spring or any gaskets in the assembly?? Here is a picture of the pump on the motor.

Any thoughts??
