I have a 1985 30 hp Johnson tiller handle. I am tired of reaching around the side of the motor to put it in and out of gear! I was wondering if anyone has tried connecting a heavy duty throttle cable to the gear shifter and attaching it to the steering handle of the motor like the new motors have? There may be a conversion kit available to do this but I am not sure if there is or not.
