I recently got my hands on a 1969 Johnson 25R69B. I changed the water pump and the foot oil. I ran it in a barrel and it seemed to run fine so I took it out to the lake. I left the ramp and idled out of the no wake zone. When i cleared the no wake zone i opened her up and she was running great, I ran her about 1 minute and let off the throttle but when I tried to give it more throttle it wouldn't go WOT so I shut it down and let it sit for a few minutes. It took me a good 10-15 pulls to get it to start back up. I motored along but it would never give me that WOT like it did when it was cold leaving the ramp. I didn't check my speed before I started having issues but when i turned my gps on I was running 23 mph. I slowed down once again to about 18 mph and when I tried to give it more throttle it would not go past 18-19 mph. it finally died and i broke something in the pull rope assembly so it wont catch now. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
