  • 89 110vro starting question

    Hi everyone,

I've got an 89 johnson 110 vro. My problem is with the 2nd start. Usually to start it the first time I press the fuel line primer bulb until firm, move the fast idle lever up, turn the key to on, push in 3-5x to prime and it usually starts between 1st and 3rd try. My problem is when i turn it off and try to start again, it usually takes a lot of tries to get it going again. I don't prime the bulb the second time but I usually lift up the fast idle and prime where the key is a couple times. I'm wondering if I'm flooding the engine or something the second time. Usually if it won't start I'll give it 10 minutes try again and it'll start after 2nd or 3rd try and run fine. Am I doing something wrong? The only other thing I can think of is that the motor may be running too rich when in use that it floods it when I stop; but Im no marine mechanic so I'm probably wrong. any help is appreciated.

    Thanks
Working...
