trim Sending unit

Will the trim sending unit keep the tilt and trim from moving up and down when using the switch? The switch on the motor does move up and down. I have checked the switch on the throttle and it is good. Left out that it is a 2004 Johnson 115 HP J115PLSRC.

loose connection between shift lever switch and tilt motor.
