I have a new to me 1995 15hp 2 stroke short shaft with pull start. It starts fine when cold and runs like a champ at all RPMs including idle. If I shut it off hot and then try to restart it within a minute or so it fires right back up. However, when I shut it off warm and let it sit for a few minutes it takes many pulls to get it started again and it comes up to idle very slow. If I give it any gas during this process it stalls.
It overheated on me about a month ago. I replaced the water pump (the entire kit not just impeller) and the thermostat. Now this problem is happening. Before it overheated it started first pull every time. Not sure if they are related. Would really love some help with this!
