I have a 1990 200 HP Johnson that the idle is too high. There is no idle jet adjustment on this model. If I change the Orifice idle jet from a 0.042 to a 0.036 inch will this bring the idle down.
There is a linkage adjustment for idle speed. Also, your throttle cable from your control box could be out of adjustment, not allowing the linkage to return to idle. Check your throttle cable first, then the carb linkage.
