  • exhaust ports 50HP

Hello; A little help, I have a 50HP Johnson ,2 stroke, model J50PLSOC, 2005. While winterizing I dropped a small rubber end from a can of fogging oil in spark plug hole. Don't know which cylinder but knew it was in there because I could feel it when turning motor over by hand. The piece is about 1/4"x1/4" soft rubber. When I lowered each piston down by turning flywheel to try to fish it out it was gone. The motor was in the down position and I think it fell into one of the ports that are on the bottom of the cylinder walls. Are these intake or exhaust ports. My thought is if they are exhaust I will find it when I put in a new water pump next spring. Any thoughts from you guys would be great. Thanks,Andy D

Next time you crank up your motor it will probably blow out the exhaust. If it is a soft plug it will do no harm, except it might bump the plug and mess up your plug gap on it's way out the exhaust.
