    What is the maximum RPM for my 140 Johnson.

    Hello,

    I have a 1977 140hp Johnson outboard model number 140TL77S. I am trying to find out the maximum rpm for the engine.

    You want it to turn at least 5000rpm with a normal load, and no more than 5500rpm. Of course, if it over revs you need a prop with more pitch and vice versa if it won't rev enough.
