Hi all,
My mate has a 70hp 2 stroke which I have converted to pre mix and idles fine now no more smoke which was killing his family. The engine runs fine on muffs but doesn't perform on the water. He sais that his fuel consumption has deteriorated and wont rev out past 6000 rpm. The timing was checked some time ago and I had to strip and clean all three carby's when I serviced it just to get it to run. I have changed the plugs, filters, gearbox oil and impeller. My question is what is the correct procedure and settings for timing these engines. I have been working on marine applications for many years but this thing has me stumped. Any help or links to data bases or procedures would be appreciated
