I'm looking for some help guys, friend has brought me his boat with a pair of 225 Johnson's on it. I'll give you all the info I have to date... one motor runs perfect, second motor would start right up but after idling out of the harbor for 15 minutes when he would jump on it to take off motor would boog down before reaching plan, even shake...he could turn the key off and back on and the motor would clear up and run...problem would occur again and again. Now motor wont run, only have fire on #1 and #6, vro was done away with, neutral safety switch in control box is gone, that's how he is able to turn key off and on at speed, also new stator, power pack was changed before I got the engine to work on.
At this point I've disconnected the shift interrupt switch, temp sensors, rectifier wires, black and yellow kill wires... still same issue. Yesterday I changed the stator from the good motor as well as the flywheel...please tell me what I've missed...I'm at a lost here
