  • 1994 Remote Control Side Mount Remote Control Problem

I have a problem with the arm not going back far enough to push the gas cable. It goes back far enough to put it in reverse but no further. I am trying to take it apart and the diagram shows a set screw (57) to remove the arm but I don't see one.

It looks like the set screw is accessed through the hole and on the center shaft. Does the throttle work in the forward position?

    Good luck.

It goes into drive and throttles up easily. Just won't go back far enough for throttle in reverse.

I looked and there is no set screw where you say and as the instructions show.

Are you sure you're going about this the proper way? Often there are minor adjustments that can be made in the throttle cable if you're getting full throttle in forward but not enough in reverse? (you shouldn't expect full throttle in reverse.)

Some parts may not be used on every part pic, but if this is your remote control (proper year, and such), it does look like there is a set screw?
